A: Most people will see improvement in a treated blemish in the first 24 hours after treatment. For the treatment of mild to moderate acne, it may take 2-3 weeks.

A: Intense-pulsed light and laser treatments rely on thermal energy (heat) to make changes in the skin’s collagen, water or blood vessels. LED skin rejuvenation (like the DermaStyle) does not rely on thermal energy.

Q: What is the difference between the DermaStyle and portable heat therapy devices?

A: The DermaStyle uses LED blue and red wavelengths to kill the bacteria causing acne and decrease the inflammation caused by the acne. Portable heat therapy devices apply heat to the area through thermal energy to dry out the pimple and the skin around it.

Q: What is the difference between the DermaStyle and other light devices?

A: Lumiport desires to give our consumers the best treatment possible and to that end we test every single LED light making sure it is within 2 nm of the perfect wave length. On top of which, the Lumiport team did extensive research to determine the ratio of visible blue and red light  needed to give the best possible results. Each of our bulbs is able to produce that ratio within its self. Our competitors use individual blue or red light with a plus or minus 20nm margin, instead of a combination red-blue light. This means that the area our competitors’ product is treating gives spot treated of red or blue light with a small overlap between the two.

Q: Should I use the light both morning and night?

A: If you are able to use the DermaStyle morning and night, you will see better results than if you treat only once a day.

Q: Which setting is recommended for getting rid of blackheads?

A: You should use the combined red and blue (or violet) setting. Regular use of the DermaStyle as well as reducing the use of oily creams and drying chemicals will promote healthier, naturally rejuvenated skin that will have fewer blocked pores and blackheads.

Q: Does the DermaStyle work for all complexions and skin colors?

A: Unlike Intense-Pulsed Light and Laser therapies, the DermaStyle is both safe and effective on all skin colors and types.

Q: Will I be able to feel anything when using the DermaStyle?

A: The DermaStyle may feel slightly warm after a few minutes, but most people do not feel anything while using the DermaStyle.

Q: Is the DermaStyle safe to use when pregnant?

A: The DermaStyle produces only safe wavelengths of light, but you should always consult your doctor before using light therapy.

Q: Is it possible to “over-treat” my skin with the DermaStyle?

A: There is no known side effect. However, most people find that more exposure to the light than the recommended acne skin care treatment time does not give any added benefits.

Q: What is the lifetime of the DermaStyle?

A: The DermaStyle is run by a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery. The life of the battery is approximately 5 years and is non replaceable. The LED lights inside the DermaStyle are also rated for 5 years.
